After returning to the Northern VA area in September 2015, focus was shifted from a motorized scooter to a pedal powered bicycle.  Roughly 8 years ago, my friend Mike gave me a 1980 Panasonic DX-3000 road bike for free.  Since then I have used it for commuting and the odd overnight bike-camping trip as well as testing the limits of double butted steel in two wrecks. In the fall of 2015 I set out to achieve my goal experiencing the landscape through a new lens by bicycling almost 900 miles from Alexandria, VA to  my friends at Common Ground in Blountsville, AL.  Along the way I made time to visit with friends and family and soak in the autumnal sights and smells through Appalachia.
